HOLIDAY BOWL RECAP

The Nebraska Alumni Association’s official tour to San Diego for the Holiday Bowl was one of our best tours ever. More than 550 alumni and friends traveled to California as part of the official alumni tour, which included a stay at the Nebraska football team hotel (San Diego Marriott Hotel & Marina), tickets to the game and access to pre-game events planned in partnership with the Nebraska Athletic Department and Husker Sports Network.

HUSKER HOLIDAY BOWL PREVIEW

As part of the tour, the association offered, for the first time at a bowl game, a modified version of our popular "Football Friday" events. Dec. 29, more than 1,100 people attended the Husker Holiday Bowl Preview at Stingaree, a restaurant and bar in the Gaslamp Quarter. Husker Sports Network's Greg Sharpe, the Omaha World-Herald's Mitch Sherman and former Huskers Matt Davison and Zach Wiegert offered insight into the 2009 Huskers and predictions for the game (though no one quite envisioned the Huskers' dominance!).

HOLIDAY BOWL HUSKER HUDDLE

On game day, more than 2,200 alumni and fans attended the official pre-game Husker Huddle. The program included the pre-game Husker Sports Network broadcast and visits from University of Nebraska President J.B. Milliken, UNL Chancellor Harvey Perlman, NU Athletic Director Tom Osborne and former Huskers Darin Erstad, Vince Ferragamo, Vershan Jackson, Jeff Kinney, Carlos Polk, Guy Rozier, Brenden Stai and Weigert. KFAB's Jim Rose served as emcee for both the huddle and the preview.
